Yolanda Renee Buchanan was born November 26th, 1966 in Bishop, West Virginia. She was raised by her grandmother Hallie Ferguson Martin Buchanan; Yolanda had a fiery spirit a sarcastic wit that made everyone fall in love with her. She was an active body, you could always catch her outside either playing or participating in sports. Her passion and intelligence were two things that could not be tamed; not only did she use her words to express her activism, she would always be in the top five in her class. She would then continue her education at Marshall University, where she would not only obtain a degree in Social Work but she would meet her then husband Patrick Mills. Yolanda and Patrick found balance in one another, which resulted in many years of a happy life together along with two daughters Emani Jeanee Mills and Tatiana Hallie Mills. In her later years she would find love and joy in a man named Frank Lambert where she would find solace. Yolanda was a woman who constantly overcame adversity, she was a natural fighter and fought until her last day. Yolanda Renee Buchanan was a respected Wife, Social Worker, Poet, Activist and Mother. She was a beacon of light for anyone who knew her, her legacy now lives through her daughters.
