Our dear mom, Wilma "Jean" Folden Akers, 80, passed away at her home in Marion, IA on October 21, 2024. Formerly from Garwood, West Virginia. She is the daughter of Anthony Blackwell and Alma Bishop-Blackwell, born on May 22, 1944.Jean loved to read and enjoyed music and singing. Her favorite saying was "I have a song for that". She was a wonderful mom, nana and friend. She was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance.

Survivors include her daughters, Lora Griffin (William Hardin) and son in law, Keith Griffin of Germanton, North Carolina, Pam (Ron) Crane of Springville, Iowa, Paula Akers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and son, Mark Akers of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, her grandchildren, Austin Griffin, Nicole Crane and Ashleigh Akers. She was preceded in death by William "Ed" Folden, Marvin Akers and son Tony Folden.

Funeral services are to take place at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, West Virginia on Friday, November 1st. The visitation will begin at 11:00 P.M until 1:00 P.M. with a funeral service and burial to follow.
