It is with profound sadness that the family of Walter Leer Hatcher Jr. announce his peaceful passing on September 16th, 2020 at the age of 93 years.
Born on March 27,1927 in Raleigh County to the late Walter Lee Hatcher Sr. and Maggie (Crotty) Hatcher.He retired from Northfolk Southern Railway, he was employed by predecessors, Northfolk Western Railway and Virginian Railway as a supervisor for 44 ½ years.He was a member of Princeton Pentecostal Church and was a devout Christian.He was a devoted family man and loved many adventures with his grandchildren.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 69 years, Juanita Hatcher.Sons, Robert Lee Hatcher, wife Donna Hatcher of Slidell, LA.Thomas Lee Hatcher, wife Shannon R Hatcher of Charlotte, NC. Grandchildren: Justin and Melena Hatcher of Slidell, LA, Jennifer Walker of Charlotte, NC, Olivia and Eric Bickoff of Charleston, WV and Jessica Hatcher Mack of Charlotte, NC.
Great Grandchildren:Juliana and Maci Hatcher, Christian David, Abram and Grayson Bickoff, and Stanly Mack III.
Siblings: Sister Alice Street of Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Louise McGinnis of Beckley, WV.

Funeral Service will Be 2 PM Saturday September 19th at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Reece officiating. Entombment will take place in Roselawn Cemetery. Friends May call from 6-8 pm at the funeral home Friday September 18th
