IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Steven Kent
Bish
September 7, 1958 – January 25, 2023
Steven Kent Bish "Big Dog", age 64 of Princeton, West Virginia passed away January 25, 2023 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born September 7, 1958 he was the son of Sandra Lea Thompson Bish and the Late Carl Houston "Johnny" Bish JR. Steven graduated from Princeton High School in 1977 and joined the United States Navy. He was Honorably discharged in 1982. While in the Navy, Steven served as a Quarter Master Helmsman on the USS Luce while receiving the Navy Achievement Medal for his extraordinary service. He toured the Atlantic, North Atlantic, and Mediterranean Seas. After serving, Steven became a Machinist for 30 years in the Princeton, WV area.
He was a Dallas Cowboys fan from early childhood and he began coaching PeeWee and Midget football from the mid 80's to the mid 90's, for the Athens Deli Mart, and Princeton City Chiefs. Steven would go the extra mile during those seasons and take many of the young athletes to and from every practice and game, on top of hosting many events at his home in Lilly Grove with the children on his teams. Steven loved playing games, golfing with his best friends, Jerry Dickens and Chris Lafferty, cooking, doing diamond art, camping and celebrating holidays with his family and friends. Steven had a crazy sense of humor which most would recognize from his interactive Facebook posts. He loved making people smile and laugh and most would say he never met a stranger. He was a very social person, a true family man
to his immediate and extended family.
In addition to his father, Johnny Bish; Steven was preceded in death by his grandparents whom he loved dearly, June and Raynard Thompson, and Edith and Carl Bish Sr.; extended family, Jody L. Thompson, Bobby Bish, Betty Joe Johnston, Lawrence Johnston, Ross Gusler and Jewell Belcher.
Steven is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 42 years, Annie Bish; one son, Joshua Steven Bish; one daughter, Sarah Kathleen Bish Bailey, grandchildren, Shayla Paige Phillips, Nathan Cole Phillips, Amiah Renee Bish, Jeremiah Steven Bish, and Josiah Calem Buckner; Aunts and Uncles, April Roland, Rita Minnick and Colin Thompson; cousin Jodikaye Lafferty and Heath Phillips who Steven thought of as a son.
In keeping with his wishes, Steven will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held on January 31, 2023 at 2:00 P.M at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, West Virginia.
