Shirley Diana Wood Atkins, 67 passed away February 19, 2025 in Bluefield, WV. Born March 21, 1957 she was a daughter of the late Robert Ray Wood and Edna Jane Prince Wood. Shirley graduated from Matoaka High School. She loved Indians and their culture and had a full collection of Indian sculptures and dream catchers. Shirley also enjoyed her cats and was a loving foster mom to the cats that needed extra care. She loved spending time with her family especially her husband, Steve.  In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death  with the love of her life, Steven Atkins; sisters, Judy Kay Rose (Bobby) of Lashmeet, WV, Shirley's twin, Sheila Foley of Sumpter, SC; and brother, Robert lee Wood, Sr. (Sharon Kay Wood) of Lashmeet, WV.

Those left to cherish Shirley's memory are her sisters,  Darla Raye Montgomery (Larry) of Matoaka, WV, Donna Williams of Lashmeet, WV, and Edna Sue Basham (Edward Sizemore) of Princeton, WV, nieces; Michelle Proffitt, Alesha Settles; nephews, Russell Foley, Blaine "BJ" Williams, Robert "Peanut" Wood, Jr. and Chris Hill; great nieces, nephews, and great great nieces and nephew.

In keeping with Shirley's wishes, she will be cremated with an inurnment service at a later date.
