Shirley Louise McNew Levitt, age 83 of Bluefield, WV passed away Friday, August 18, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Born, April 15, 1940, in Tazewell, VA, Shirley was a daughter of the late William Henry McNew and Alvernia Phillips McNew. Shirley was a 1958 alumni of Graham High School. Once she graduated, she married in 1959 and had two children whom she loved dearly. She worked at Superior Sterling in downtown Bluefield until she transitioned to office manager for Dr. Krishnan and Dr. Pujari. Shirley retired at the age of 71. Even after retirement, she continued to help people by taking friends to doctor appointments and sitting with them at the nursing home. She loved taking tours with friends to include Arizona, Nashville, Hawaii, and many more, but she especially loved the beach. In addition to her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by one daughter, Pamela Sue Sarver; one grandson, Branden Levitt; two brothers, Ray McNew and Tom McNew; and one sister, Sarah Kitts.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Victor Levitt and wife Marie; son in law, Dannie Sarver; grandchildren, Adam Sarver, Christopher Owens, Benjamin Levitt, Bethany Levitt; great grandchildren, Adaline Bowers, Bennett Bowers, Kailey Sarver, Addisyn Sarver, and Isaac William. The family would also like to recognize a special family friend, Yvonne Evans.

The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV where funeral services will immediately follow with Minister Dan Webb officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Roselawn Cemetery.
