Shelby J. Gibson, 82, of Aiken, SC, formerly of Sandy Huff (Iaeger) WV, passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 at her home. Born November 26, 1938 in Iaeger, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lacy England and Pearl Gibson. She was a homemaker and a long-time member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Virgil Gibson; husband, Lawrence "Hoot" Gibson; brothers, Lacy England Jr., Bobby England, Ernest England, Jay England, Walter England, Ronnie England and Danny Gibson; sisters, Helen England and Hazel Riffe. She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Charlie) Lambert of Aiken, SC;granddaughters, Misty (Josh) Desormeaux of Kaplan, LA, and Shellie (David) Kinard of North Augusta, SC; great-granddaughter, Laci Desormeaux; great-grandson, Brice Kinard; brother, Clyde (Bonnie) of Princeton, WV; sisters, Linda (Jay) Lester of Iaeger, WV and Charlotte Burnette of Montcalm; special in-laws, Don and Annie Gibson, James and Darlene Vance, Jack and Shea Gibson, Jeannie Gibson and James and Marlene Gibson; special friend, Sister Sammie Poteet and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV with Rev. Gary Walker and Teddy Vance, officiating. The family will welcome friends one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Due to the Governor's mandate, masks and social distancing will be observed.
