Shawn Ray Boyd, age 46, of Princeton, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2025. He was born February 25, 1979, in Bluefield, WV, to parents Danny Boyd and Robin Dunford-Boyd. Shawn was always the life of the party. He enjoyed being surrounded by people and always went out of his way to make sure that everyone was smiling and happy—he never met a stranger. Shawn loved the "County," and was proud to be from WV. He enjoyed cruising the mountains with his buddy, Buster. Every year he enjoyed going to Rod Run, in Pigeon Forge with his daughter Aubree, son Bryce and father Mel. Shawn was also thought of as, "The King of Bartering," always buying, selling, trading, or looking for his next toy. He loved speed—he could, and would, drive the wheels off anything. He shared his love of cars with his son, brother, and nephews. Shawn helped anyone that was in need, whether he knew them or not, and would give you his last dime. Shawn was a Christian. He was saved and baptized at Cornerstone Family Church. Shawn wouldn't have wanted this to be a sad time. He would have wanted everyone to celebrate his life and enjoy theirs to the fullest. We honor his memory - not with sorrow, but with the kind of joy he brought into our lives.

Shawn was preceded in death by his wife Stephanie Boyd; paternal grandparents Glen and JoAnne Boyd; maternal grandmother Dolly Dunford; uncle Mark Boyd; aunt Tina Dunford; and several cousins.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter Aubree Boyd of Princeton, WV; son Bryce Meadows of Princeton, WV; his fur baby Buster Ray Boyd; father Danny "Mel" Boyd of Bassett, Va; mother Robin Boyd of Warriormines, WV; stepfather Keith Patterson of Falls Mills, VA; brother Tim (Kathy) Boyd of North Tazewell, VA; stepbrother Mark Deskins of Louisiana; nephews Matthew Justus and Timothy Boyd of North Tazewell, VA; aunt Barbara (Jack) Johnson of Warriormines, WV; uncles James "Ted" Boyd of Bassett, VA, Joseph (Libby) Boyd of Tazewell, VA, Rick (Jennifer) Dunford of Warriormines, WV, and Mike (Rita) Dunford of Warriormines, WV; and many beloved cousins and a very special "cuz."

Services will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 2, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for visitation. The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. with committal services immediately following at 10:00 a.m. in Roselawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Sy Sanders, Marlin Cassady, Dwayne Herron, Brody Boyd, Michael McDonough, Richard Hankins, Coven Byrd, and Bailey Boyd.
