Sandra Strong Rose, age 81 of Princeton, WV passed away Sunday, November 6, 2023 at her home. Born May 13, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Mary Strong. Sandra graduated from Bluefield High School and began her nursing career at Princeton Community Hospital as an LPN. During her time at PCH, she went back to school at Bluefield State College and received her RN, but she didn't stop there. While working full time and raising a family, she decided to go back to Bluefield State again and graduate with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration maintaining a 4.0 GPA. Sandra worked as an LPN, RN, and patient care coordinator until retirement after 30+ years of service to the healthcare field. She also, in free time, enjoyed cross stitching, crafting, collecting beanie babies, watching football, especially when her sons and grandsons played, and watching her husband, sons, and grandson in auto racing. Sandra always loved learning new things whether it be through school or training. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Edward D. Strong and a niece, Cheri Strong Lyons.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Lois R. Blankenship and husband, Thomas, Mary E. Woods and husband, Gary; sons, Raymond H. Rose Jr. and wife Tammy, William E. Rose and wife, Tina all of Princeton, WV; brother, James B. Strong and wife Lou of NC; sisters, Barbara Mullins of SC and Helen Sisson and husband, Dwight of WV; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.
Private graveside services will take place Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Roselawn Cemetery in Princeton, WV with Pastor Dallas Peyton officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
