Samuel C. Morris, age 92 of Bluefield, WV passed peacefully, Thursday, September 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. Born May 11, 1931 in Bland, VA he was a son of the late Crockett Cloyd Morris, Sr. and Reba Jane Tibbs Morris. Samuel was a graduate of Bland High School. After graduation, he went to work as an engineer for Norfolk Southern until he was drafted to serve in the Korean War. After an honorable discharge from the United States Army, he returned to Norfolk Southern until he retired after almost 44 years. Samuel was known as a hard worker but most importantly, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In addition to his parents, Samuel is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Mildred Faye Wolfe Morris; daughter, Cynthia Darlene Morris Leighton; and siblings, Crockett Cloyd, Jr., Margaret Geneva, William Ross, Robert Curtis, and Hubert Randolph.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Bryan K. Morris and wife Susan, Timothy B. Morris and wife Cindy, Crystal Morris Lawson and husband Bill; son in law, Bill Leighton and wife Lucinda; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family would like to extend their gratitude to special caregivers, Britanee and Katrina Mason and Bella the cat.

The family will receive friends from 5PM-7PM, Wednesday, October 4, 2023 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV. Funeral services will be conducted at 1PM Thursday, October 5, 2023 with Reverend Danny Shortridge officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Roselawn Cemetery. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
