Ruth Mitchem, 80 passed away Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Martinsburg, WV. Born July 29, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Isaac and Dorothy Lambert. Ruth enjoyed many things throughout her life including shopping, going to the carnivals, playing board games, bingo, and cooking for her family. Although there simply are not enough words to describe what a wonderful woman Ruth was; she was truly an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was loved more than words could describe. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50+ years, Joseph Lewis Mitchem; six children, Donald Ray Mitchem, Jeffrey Allen Mitchem, Isaac David Mitchem, Tammy Marie Mitchem, Lisa Annette Mitchem and Bruce Anthony Mitchem; sisters, Martha Lambert, Janice Lambert, Gail Greene, Simon Lambert; brothers, Darrell Lambert, David Lambert, Isaac Lambert, and Jimmy Lambert.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Joseph "Joe" Mitchem and wife Helen; daughter, Crystal Mitchem; sisters, Emily Martin, Connie Moore, Kathy Morgan; brothers; Joey Lambert and Tommy Lambert; eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Roselawn Funeral Home, Tuesday, August 6, 2024 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM with funeral services immediately following. Burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bluefield, WV.
