Ruth Lynn Johnson, age 70, of Wytheville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025. Born January 11, 1955, she was the youngest of 8 siblings belonging to the late James Johnson Sr., and Ella Hale Johnson. Ruth demonstrated remarkable and admirable strength throughout every obstacle in her life, overcoming them all with determination and grace. She was a homemaker, and devoted mother to her daughter, Jennifer Johnson. Ruth loved watching television, especially old comedy shows, and she loved a good scary movie. She was a quiet soft-spoken woman who preferred the company of her close-knit family.

Ruth is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Johnson. Those left to celebrate her life are her daughter, Jennifer Johnson and partner, Terry Taxley; brother, James Johnson Jr.; sisters, Martha Bailey, Cynthia Johnson, Aileen Rogers-Roy, Bernice "Ann" Johnson, and Patricia Jones; grandchildren, Stuart Crockett and wife Jessica, Alyssa Crocket and partner, Justin Addison; great grandchildren: Nala Addison and Nayvi Addison.

Ruth leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and love that will carry on. Her family will forever hold her spirit close, honoring her life by cherishing her memory, and reflecting on the love she gave.

In keeping with her family's wishes, she will be cremated, and a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
