Ruby Ellen Palko, age 93 of Bluefield, Virginia, formerly of Bartley, WV, passed away on January 1, 2023. Born April 12, 1929 in Warriormine, WV, she was the daughter if the late Rev. Mathias and Ethel Mullins Dunford. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Johnny Palko; infant daughter, Elizabeth Aileen Palko, sisters, Geraldine Bailey, and Alice Maloney; brothers, Franklin Dunford, Bill Dunford, James Dunford, and Jewell Dunford.

Survivors include her son, John Palko, Jr. of the home; sisters, Bernice Price and Dolly Dunford; grandchildren, Dr. Pete Palko and wife Latrisha of Bridgeport, and Beth Pack and husband, John of Daniels; great grandchildren, Pete Palko, IV, Magda Palko and Zofia Palko.

She loved all of her special friends in McDowell County and those in her church family. She loved cooking for her family, being with friends, and working in her home. Ruby attended Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Bluefield, Virginia. She loved attending church and worshiping her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family would like to give special thanks to Mercer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bluefield and Princeton Community Hospital.

Services will be conducted on Monday, January 9, 2023 at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton, West Virginia with Pastor Steve Aker officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am-12pm until the service hour at 12pm. Interment will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, West Virginia.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Bluefield, Virginia.
