Ruby "Sharon" Hagerman, age 75, of Rural Retreat, VA., passed away at home on October 5, 2026, after a lengthy illness.

Ruby was born March 29, 1951, in McDowell County, West Virginia, to the late Pearl Bostic Roberts and Gus Roberts.

Ruby shared nearly 57 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Gordon Neal Hagerman. They would have celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on October 20th. Ruby loved flowers and watching little birds. She was an avid reader, loved gospel music, and above all, she treasured her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Her family, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, etc., were an important part of her life, and the memories they made together will be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Osborne, Linda Delgado, and Joann Roberts; and her brothers, Marvin Kennedy and Eugene Roberts.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gordon Neal Hagerman; her only child, Gregory (Delana) Hagerman; three grandsons, Cody Hagerman, Lucas Hagerman, and Gunner Hagerman, all of Rural Retreat; and one granddaughter, Jade Hagerman, of the home.

She is also survived by her sister, Helen (Manuel) Cervantes, from Oceanside, California; brothers, Ralph (Vanessa) Roberts from Bluefield, VA; and Bobby Roberts from Lerona, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

Services for Ruby will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery in Princeton, WV, on Monday, October 12, 2026. Family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m. with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m. 

Gregory Hagerman, Cody Hagerman, Lucas Hagerman, Gunner Hagerman, James Stacy, and Steven Matney, along with other members of the family, will serve as pallbearers.

Interment will follow in Roselawn Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
