Roger Davidson, 85, of Bluefield, WV passed away peacefully at WVU Medical Center - Princeton, after a short illness.

Roger was born in Crystal, WV to the late Clarence and Ola Sizemore Davidson. Roger was married for 53 years to Mary Alice Hicks Davidson before her passing in 2013. Roger and Mary's only child, Gregory Davidson, passed away in January 2023. Two of Roger's brothers also passed before him; Kenneth and Lee.

Left to cherish Roger's memory: brother, Clarence Davidson, Jr; daughter-in-law, Melanie Davidson; grandsons: Jeffrey Davidson (Samantha); and Justin Davidson; great-grandson, Cameron Davidson. Roger also leaves behind a great nephew, Kevin Davidson (Kenneth's grandson)with whom he spent more time recently after losing his bother, Kenneth.

Along with his relatives, Roger leaves behind many friends.

Roger was a graduate of Bramwell High School class of 1956.

Roger was a veteran of the US Army and spent time at Ft. Campbell, Ft. Jackson, France, and Korea. Once Roger left military service, he worked for Columbus Ohio Police as a detective in the Juvenile Department. He was a lifetime member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #9, Columbus, OH.

The family has decided to bury the cremated remains of Gregory Davidson with his dad. Greg was also a veteran of the US Army, and will be honored as well.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Roselawn on Friday, April 26, 2024, at 10:00 AM with Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard Officiating.

The family would also like to thank the providers and staff of WVU Medical Center-Princeton for their care and kindness during his hospitalization.
