IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael Ray
Noe
November 29, 1954 – March 21, 2025
Michael Ray Noe born on November 29, 1954, in Welch, WV passed away peacefully and naturally Friday 3/21/2025 at 4pm at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Va. He had been battling pneumonia, had a heart attack Thursday morning, and succumbed to its side effects on his poor body while on life support.
He had a successful career as a land surveyor engineer until a work-based injury led to early retirement. He is preceded in death by his father Jack (2019) and brother Jeff (2024). He leaves behind three children - Michele Prevette (Jason), Tim Noe (Kathy) and Scott Friday; five grandchildren - Taylor, Savannah, Peyton, Nadia and Jack. His beloved mother Dorothy Noe of Princeton WV, his sturdy rock of a sister, Stephanie Pitzer (Troy) and nephews and nieces Josh, Kaiti, Brionnah and Carter.
We are grateful for the amazing staff at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital's Cardiac ICU unit. His nurses Darin and Aaron, and the Palliative care admin, Todd, went out of their way to support us and give Michael tender and honorable care to a very sick man.
Formalities aside - End of life is such a spiritual time. Who knows how to process grief? It's never the same. We fully felt God's promise that He, "Is near to the broken hearted and binds their wounds" Psalm 147:3.
On his last day of his life, he was loved on, encouraged, kissed, reminded of good and funny times, prayed over and released of any worries. His children were able to be alone with him to say goodbye. He got to FaceTime with his sister and heard a phone call from his mom. His daughter kissed him one last time and left what was left of her red lipstick on his forehead. She told him that she wished he could turn his head to look out the window and see what a beautiful day it was with a skyline mountain view. Such a bittersweet love filled time, and given the circumstances, it couldn't have been a more precious ending.
