Lorraine Faye Walker Fletcher, age 72 of Athens, WV previously of Daniels, WV gained her Heavenly angel wings on February 19, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born November 25, 1951 she was a daughter of the late Fred and Verlie Walker. Her family meant the world to her and that is what she loved and lived for. She loved vacationing and spending time with her kids and grandkids, especially the experiences of the Grand Canyon with her late son, Marshall, New York and Hawaii with her son in law, Brian and daughter, Missy. She also enjoyed communicating with her brothers, sister, Debbie McKinney and Teresa Brown daily. Lorraine was a devoted teacher of 3rd and 5th grades at Shady Spring Elementary for 31 years. She loved her students while in the classroom and long after their graduation. Her legacy still continues evidenced by the love and support given to the family from her former students.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one son, Marshall Fletcher; three brothers, Eddie Walker, Weldon Walker, and Leon Marshall Walker; mother and father in law, Mavis and Denzil Bailey.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving and dedicated husband of 54 years, Victor Fletcher; daughter Missy May and husband, Brian; granddaughters, Brittini (McClung) Orcutt and husband, Matt, Alexis May and significant other, Andrew Wilson, Madison (May) Heller and husband, Ethan; grandson, David Fletcher and wife Desiree; granddaughter, Kelly Fletcher; great grandchildren Brycen, Khloe and Kruz Orcutt, Isaac Fletcher and Jayce Heller.
The family will receive friends at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV from 9:00AM-11:00AM Friday, February 23, 2024 with Pastor Keith Mills and Sam Walker officiating. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM with interment immediately following at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be brothers, Leroy Walker, Connie Walker, Freddie Walker, and Norman Fletcher, grandson, David Fletcher, and special loved one, Joey Bowling. Honorary pallbearers are all nephews and great nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice, specifically, Megan, Sherry, Miranda, Amanda and Katelyn for the loving care and compassion they provided to Lorraine during her illness.
