Lelan "Dale" Hunt, 78, of West Virginia, passed away on August 27, 2026. He was born on May 2, 1948, in Welch, West Virginia to parents William Hunt and Effie Mitchem. Lelan enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, and cheering for his favorite team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Most of all, he treasured spending time with his daughter, Brandie, and his beloved dog, Lucky. 

Along with his parents, Lelan is preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Burgess; three brothers, Roger Hunt, Douglas Hunt, and Kenneth Hunt; one sister, Ruby K. Hall; and a special sister-in-law, Vickie Matney.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Brandie Burgess; Rufus Elmer; Julie Largo; and pet, Lucky.

In keeping with the family's wishes, a private service for Lelan "Dale" Hunt will be held at a later time.
