Lela V. McCormick, 82 of Princeton passed away on July 30th in Princeton. Born in Herndon, West Virginia to the late Isaiah and Lessie Bashan, she has been a resident of Princeton for the last 30 years. Lela met her husband, the late James L. McCormick and were married in Fairbanks, Alaska while he was in the service. They traveled around the world during his time in the service and came back home to raise their family of three children. Lela attended WV Business College, then stayed home to take care of her family. She enjoyed sewing and was an avid reader. Lela and her family attended1st United Methodist of Princeton, she was a Godly example to her family and friends living out her faith in her actions. Most of all she loved her family and will be missed by all that loved her.

She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, James L. McCormick, her son Forrest, her parents, and her brothers, Claude, Frank, and Dalford Harman.

She is survived by her loving children and their spouses, Cynthia Messemore and Billy, Debra Hicks and Paul, Lisa Dishner and Carson Randy McCormick, sister, Oma Bailey, and her beloved grandchildren, Chris, Heather, Isaiah, James, and Micah.

Family and friends are invited to remember her with visitation on Friday, August 2 from 11AM-12PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Courthouse Rd, Princeton.
