Katherine "Kathern" V. Perkins, age 102, passed away peacefully in her home on March 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 6, 1924, in Blacksburg, Virginia, and was a daughter of the late Mary Proco Matusevich and Stanley Matusevich. Kathern was a Deaconess at the Princeton Church of God and a volunteer at Princeton Community Hospital. She loved collecting dolls and angels. Kathern also enjoyed golfing and bowling.

Kathern is preceded in death by her devoted husband of over seventy years, Clayton Perkins; son, Terry Perkins; grandson, Mark Butler; and her brothers and sister.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three children: Stanley "Stan" Perkins and fiancée Loretta, Deanna Butler and husband Jackie, and Sue Stewart. She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Kathern will be held April 1, 2026, at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, West Virginia. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow immediately after the service at 12:00 p.m. at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
