John Henry "Bill" Hale, 88 of Bluefield, passed away Saturday January 25, 2020.He was born October 22, 1931 in Mercer County to the late James and Annie Lawrence Hale and was the last surviving member of his family. Bill was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed working on small engines, woodworking, vegetable gardening, fox chasing, and being with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, William and Forest Hale, five sisters, and three brothers. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 72 years, Faye Marie Wimmer Hale of the residence, four sons, Jerry Hale and companion Sherry of Bluefield, Roscoe Hale and wife Donna of Bluefield, Clayton Hale and wife Bessie of Bluefield, Marvin Hale and wife Kim of Crete IL, three daughters, Diane Graham of Bluefield, Jean Aliff and husband Garland of Bluefield, and Sharon Meachum and husband David of Athens, 26 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.
A celebration of Bill's life will be conducted at 7:00PM Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Fred Mooney officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM until time of the service on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
