John W. Felts of Bluefield, VA died on August 11 at Bowers House Hospice in Beckley.
He was born December 10, 1929, in Fancy Gap, VA, a son of Sidney C. Felts and Helena Branscombe Felts.
John was an Air Force veteran, serving at outposts in Alaska during the Korean War and later at Eniwetok Atoil nuclear testing site.
He studied accounting and business at West Virginia Business College and thus began his lifework that included more than fifty years with Associated Drugstores.
Survivors include his wife, Joann, daughter Suzanne Hutchison and husband Al, son John Felts, Jr. and wife Amy, grandchildren Caitlin Hutchison, Sam Hutchison, Sydney Felts, and John Felts III, great grandson Grey Hutchison.
As John had asked, his family held a private graveside memorial. He is interred at Maple Hill Cemetery in Bluefield, VA.
Memorial donations may be made to Bluefield Union Mission or to a charity of choice.
The care and comfort given John and his family at beautiful Bowers House are a lasting blessing.
