Jo Ann Bright Russnak, 83 of Daniels, formerly of Gary,WV in McDowell County, went to her Heavenly home on April 6, 2020. Born on February 4, 1937 in Six, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Edwin "Ed" and Eva Baker Bright. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, James Robert "Bob" Russnak, all of her siblings, Helen Palmer, Joyce Payne, Bonnie Payne and Jack Bright. Those left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Donna Thomason and husband Mark of Darlington, SC, Rhonda Sizemore and husband Dennis of Shady Spring, WV, one son, Brian Russnak and wife Melissa of Stony Point, NC, two granddaughters, Melody Zernikow and husband Eric of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kristen Miles Arnold of Darlington, SC, and two step-grandchildren, Darrin Sizemore and Stacey Sizemore. Jo Ann also has two great-grandchildren, Lindley McCutcheon and Preston Taylor as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jo Ann graduated from Big Creek High School in War, WV where she was a proud "Owl" cheerleader and remained an avid sports fan throughout the years. She formerly attended the Gary Pentecostal Holiness Church and Wilcoe Church of God where she thoroughly enjoyed teaching and sharing the word of God in both children and adult classes.
A Celebration of Jo Ann's life will be held at a later date.
