Obituary
Jess Ray Blackburn, of Ballard, WV, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at Princeton Community Hospital.
Jess was predeceased by his beloved wife, Leona Jewell (Hammonds) Blackburn, and his parents, Blaine Blackburn and Bobbie (Hurley) Blackburn.
Jess is survived by his loving children: Candy Blackburn-Jones and Blaine "Roger" Blackburn; dear step-children: John Braun, Anna DeAngelo, Deborah Poff, and Betty Dickens; fond siblings:Robertine Blackburn Jamison, Barbara Blackburn Barge, and Ronnie Blackburn; many grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids; and many nieces and nephews.
Jess was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Sergeant E-4.He loved and adored his family unconditionally.Jess was a very kind, loving, and devoted man who loved animals, working in his garden, having cook-outs, and spending time with his family.He will be loved and missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Friday, October 1, at 1:00 PM at the Roselawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 450 Courthouse Road, Princeton, WV 24740.Please assemble graveside at the Garden of the Ten Commandments.
