Jeannette Faye Childers, age 83 of Princeton, WV passed away March 15, 2023 at Princeton Community Hospital. Born November 5, 1939, she was a daughter of the late Earl Hale Blackshire and Helen Bush Blackshire. Jeannette was of the Christian faith. She was a graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School in Charleston, WV and went on to West Virginia State where she obtained an Accounting degree. Jeannette taught school for a brief period in Logan, WV before she moved to Princeton in 1973. She began her career at the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources where she later retired from. After retirement, she decided to accept a position running the electronics department at Walmart. Jeannette decided to go back to the retired lifestyle so she could dedicate her time to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She took them to any and all events and enjoyed all of her time with family. Jeannette was a die hard fan of the West Virginia Mountaineers. She was also a fan of the Dallas Coyboys and one of her greatest memories was meeting Troy Aikman. In 1960, as a member of "The Young Democrats Club," Jeannette helped host a Social Tea in which she conversed and interacted with John F. Kennedy. She enjoyed playing Bingo, spending time with her friends, playing the lottery, and shopping around in local stores. Throughout her life, she had many great achievements and memories, but spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was her greatest love.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Earl H. Blackshire Jr. and Roger Lee Blackshire and his wife, Frances.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Jennifer Green and husband, Richard; one son, James L. Childers and wife Kelli; two brothers, Benny Blackshire and wife Janet and Doug Blackshire and wife, Sherri; sister, Betty Jo Croson and husband, Stoney; grandchildren, James D. Bowden II and wife, Brandi, Jakob Green and wife, Staci, Jordan Green and wife, Jessica, (honorary children) Edward and Tiffany Green, Daniel Bowden, Nicholas Heaton, Jessica Childers and husband, James, Joey Childers and wife, Paige, Juleigh Childers, Hannah Stump and husband, Aaron; great grandchildren, Alexandria Bowden, Annabelle Green, and soon to join the family, baby Jason, Brandon Bowden, Aryanna Bowden, Mariah Bowden, Gracie-Jean Childers, Emilynn Jackson, Kaiden Childers, Jak Childers, Grayson Childers, Kobie Heaton, Kambrie Heaton, Nehemiah Heaton, Samiah Heaton, Malia Madison, and Camila Madison.
The family will receive friends at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV from 1PM to 2PM, Tuesday, March 21, 2023, where funeral services will immediately follow. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
