Obituary

James Ray Ingole, Sr. went to his heavenly reward on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at 10:05 p.m. while resting peacefully at the McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gary, WV. He was 96 years old. He was preceded in death by parents Ray and Jonsey Ingole, stepmother Lottie Ingole, sister Louise Ingole Smith, and wife Billie Jean Mayhew Ingole. Jim was born on February 11, 1926, at Grace Hospital in Welch, WV. He grew up in Hemphill, WV and graduated from Welch High School. At the age of 16, he volunteered to serve in the US Navy. All his adult life, he was a dedicated supporter of the American Legion and a living reminder that our freedom and prosperity come with a price. Jim and Billie Jean were devoted, faithful partners for life. Together they built a home and reared their children in Welch, WV. They were loving and supportive parents, grand-parents, and great grandparents.As co-owner of Industrial Bearings and Supply, Inc., Jim maintained a reputation of excellence for servicing and repairing coal mining equipment in the surrounding area. As a member of the Lions Club, he lived out his belief in changing the world by serving the needs of his local community with compassion, kindness, and care. As a councilman for the city of Welch, his wisdom and insight frequently were utilized in decisions and decision-making processes related to the city's actions on behalf of the community. Jim was a member of the United Methodist Church in Welch. He enjoyed singing in the choir and helping to maintain the building and grounds. He was known as one who could fix just about anything in or around the facility.

He is survived by two daughters, Debra (Debbie) Richardson of Summerville, SC, Barbara (Bobbie) Oliver (husband, C.D.) of Lewisburg, WV and one son, James Ray Ingole, Jr., of Bandy, VA; grandchildren Lisa Bales Miller (husband, Lee) of Thompson Station, TN, Wayne Richardson of Danbury, CT, and Morgan Rae Ingole Kites of Bristol, TN; great grand-children Nolan Miller, Grayson Miller, Ellison Miller, Zachary Richardson, and Brayden Richardson. The viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Roselawn Cemetery Chapel in Princeton, WV. The Reverend Brad Davis will conduct a celebration of life service at 10:45 a.m. in the chapel, with the grave-side committal service to follow.

The family extends special thanks to the administration, staff, and caregivers at
McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and to Lee and Sandy Walker, for their constant concern and care.

Memorial gifts may be sent to the United Methodist Church in Welch, WV or to the
McDowell County Humane Society.
