James Lewis "JL" Gentry Jr., of Princeton, West Virginia, passed on July 1, 2022.JL was born March 5, 1970.He was the son of the late James "Brud" Lewis Gentry and Betty L. Wimmer Gentry.In addition to his parents, he was also proceeded in death by his mother-in-law, Joy Mae Holdren.He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Tina Mechell Holdren Gentry; and two loving daughters, Tasha Clemons and her husband, Jeff, of Princeton, and Tonya Gentry of Charleston.He is also survived by his three sisters—Anna Michelle Gentry Beavers and her husband, Tim, of South Point, Ohio; Gay Gentry and husband, Russell, of Lompoc, California; and Cheryl MacDermaid of Melbourne, Florida—and his father-in-law, James "Jimmy" Holdren of Princeton.JL had four beautiful granddaughters who meant the world to him:Braelynn, Payton, and Reagan Clemons of Princeton; and Nevaeh Sheets of South Carolina.He had three nephews as well—Timothy James "TJ" Beavers of New York, New York; Sean Mulligan of California; and Kevin Mulligan of Nitro, West Virginia.

JL was a 28-year employee of Roselawn Memorial Gardens of Princeton up until his final day.JL enjoyed wrestling, road trips, and spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by his wife and family.Those who knew him certainly enjoyed his humor and knowing that he was always there for them.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Thursday, July 7, 2022.Visitation will be from 1-2pm, and the service will follow at Roselawn Funeral Home, 450 Court House Rd., Princeton, West Virginia.The service will be under the direction of Pastor Donis Williams of Princeton.
