Gregory Alexander Hartman, 53 of Princeton, WV passed away Friday, August 19, 2022 at NIH Hospital in Bethseda, MD after a courageous battle with cancer. Born August 2, 1969 in San Antonio, TX he was the son of the late Ronald Gay Hartman and Brenda Gail Cress. Greg was a Seargent in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He served nineteen years in the military as a helicopter mechanic. Greg loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, going sailing on his boat, camping in his RV, four-wheeling on his ATV, and jet skiing. After his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for a number of years at Auto Zone. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents Loney and Hazel Cress of Bluefield, VA and his first cousin, Cory Surface.

He is survived by a son, Ronnie Eugene Hartman of Buffalo, NY; sister, Mary Mathena and husband, Donald; first cousins who were considered brothers and sisters, Charlie Surface of Tazewell, VA, Carl Surface and wife Alisha of Salisbury, NC, and Christina Surface-Hale and husband, Gary of Bluefield, WV; one aunt Jenny Cress of Princeton, WV.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM Monday, August 29, 2022 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV where a memorial service will be conducted at 11 AM with Pastor Danny Meade officiating. Inurnment will follow at Roselawn Mausoleum where military rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Honor Guard of Princeton, WV.
