Elsie "Burlean" Kilby, 90, of Matoaka, WV, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 7, 2021. Elsie was born on April 30, 1930 and was one of seven children. Elsie was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She had a very loving nature and a kind heart. She enjoyed bird watching and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Author Kilby and Mamie Haynes-Kilby; three brothers, Grant Kilby, Glen Kilby, and Paul Kilby; two sister, Bessie Berry and Arlene Taylor; and one daughter, Beverly Kilby. She is survived by one daughter, Kim Bourne and husband, Joe, of Bluefield, VA; two grandchildren, Ashley Jeffers and husband, Andrew, of Covington, LA, and Tanner Bourne of Blacksburg, VA; two great grandchildren, Caitlin and Alexander Jeffers; and one sister, Lorene Gross.

There will be a private graveside service held for the family Thursday, February 11, 2021 at Roselawn Cemetery. Due to the Governor's mandate, all in attendance must wear masks and observe social distancing. Online condolences can be shared with the family at roselawnmontevista.com.
