Elfriede Elisabeth Turpin, 78, of Lerona, West Virginia, died at her residence on October 15, 2020.Born on December 22, 1941 in Schweinfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of Ludwig and Elsie (Raab) Then.
Elfriede had the distinction of being the chief chef at Pipestem State Park.She was affectionately referred to by many as a loving grandmother, mother, and friend.Her favorite pastimes including going out to eat with her best friends and sisters-in-law Deloris Shrader and Dena Turpin. She also loved reading the Bible.She was a member of Peaceful Valley Church in Princeton, West Virginia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Herbert Turpin, Jr., and grandchildren Matthew Wells, Charlie Turpin and Roy Harvey Turpin, Jr. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Roy Harvey Turpin, Sr. and daughters Virginia Turpin, Heikey Christian, Lorraine McMichael (Lenny) and Rosita Turpin.Grandchildren Roy Joseph Turpin (Mary); Amber Shellhammer (Rikk) and Great-Grandchildren Dakota and Rylie Turpin and Kaleb and Khloe Shellhammer.
