IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dorothy Stella
Parks
October 26, 1927 – September 3, 2025
Dorothy Stella Parks, age 97, of High Point, North Carolina, formerly of Bluefield, West Virginia, passed from her earthly home to Heaven on September 3, 2025. She was born in South Bend, Indiana on October 26, 1927, to Henry J. and Antoinette Kopczynski. Dorothy was a lovingly devoted mother and was very active in her daughter's lives. She would attend every school activity, and enjoyed volunteering her time wherever she was needed. Dorothy was always there for them throughout their entire lives. She loved to cook and bake, but her passion was sewing, especially when it came to creating things for her family. Dorothy was a dedicated and lifelong member of Edgemount Baptist Church in Bluefield, WV. She attended Grace Baptist in Winston Salem, once she had moved to North Carolina. After her husband Stuard's retirement, they had a love for traveling, even making a trip across the country, and into Canada. They both loved spending winters in Florida, enjoying the beach, and the company of family.
In addition to her mother and father, Dorothy is preceded in death by her devoted husband of 62 years, Stuard Parks Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory include her three daughters, Barbara and Bob Washburn of Melbourne, FL, Marcia and Lee Thacker of Townsend, TN, and Robin and Randy Berrier of Winston Salem, NC; six grandchildren that she dearly loved and enjoyed spending time with, Tammy Moschetti of Melbourne, FL, Jimmy and Annie McCoy of Coco Beach, FL, Joshua and Jennifer Hanson of Billings, MT, Alexander Vines of Renton Washington, Erika and Alex Stewart of Charlotte, NC, and Emily Angles of Charlotte, NC; Seventeen great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren; three nieces, Pam and Butch Poe of Chuluota, FL, Jeanette and Joe McKew of Southbend, IN, and Debbie and Mike Clymer of South Bend, IN; and nephew, Patrick Gallagher of Rome, Italy.
Services will be held at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, West Virginia on Wednesday, September 10, 2025. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. with committal services beginning at 2:00 p.m. in Roselawn Cemetery.
