David Lee Hartwell, 77 of Princeton, WV passed away Sunday May 17, 2026, at Glenwood Healthcare Center in Princeton, WV. Born November3, 1948 he was a son of the late Vernie C. Hartwell and Annie Jane (Kirk) Hartwell.

David enjoyed his career of truck driving, traveling the USA.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death two of his four children, David L. Hartwell and Melyssa Basso; and one sister, Mary Tilley.

He is survived by two sons, Yancey L. Hartwell and Jesse V. Hartwell; three grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Rita Thompson, Frances Southern, Sandra Caldwell (Virgel); special friend and caregiver, Paula Butts.

The family will receive friends at Resthaven Memorial Park Mausoleum (1917 West Main Street, Princeton, WV) Wednesday May 20, 2026 from 11:00AM-12:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 12:00PM with pastor Larry White officiating.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in memory of David.
