David Randall “Randy” Cannady, 75, of Elkhorn, West Virginia, passed away on June 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and dearest friends. Randy was a joyful, light-hearted spirit who carried a quick wit and a lifelong, kid-like sense of wonder wherever he went.

For nearly 40 years, Randy’s true passion was flying radio-controlled aircraft. As a longtime, devoted member and Vice President of the Pirates of the Sky R/C Club, the airfield became a second home. The deep, lasting camaraderie he found there was a cornerstone of his life, and he deeply cherished the wide circle of close friends who shared his love for the skies.

A lifelong resident of Elkhorn, Randy graduated from Northfork High School and spent time working as a coal miner before becoming disabled in his earlier years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Andrew Cannady and Zettie Lou Cannady; his wife, Brenda Cannady Sparks; his grandchild, Seth Lee Gill; and his nephew, Staci Allison Ritter.

Randy is survived by his long-term companion, Regina Caldwell Pickett; his sister, Sandra Cannady Mote (husband Terry); his children, Selena Cannady Bennett, CDR David Bruce Cannady of the US Navy (Sarah), and Joseph “Joey” Davis Cannady; his grandchildren, Triston Sulley Bennett (wife Jessica), Madison Brooke Cannady, Meghan Camille Cannady, McKenzie Lynn Sprouse, and Hannah Marie Pynn; his great-grandchild, Hubert Billy Bennett; and his niece, Leandre "Drew" Ritter Gerwin (husband Paul).

Services for Randy will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, WV. The family will receive friends Tuesday, June 29, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. Graveside services will immediately follow at 12 P.M in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
