Obituary

Dallas Clayton Miller passed away peacefully on August 8, 2025. He was born November 17, 1945, in Montcalm, West Virginia, to the late Clayton and Ruby (Hall) Miller. After graduating from Montcalm High School, Dallas worked his way through Bluefield College. He was recruited to work at IBM. In 1966, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served for 2 years, before being honorably discharged. Dallas invested 24 years with IBM, 13 years with Siemens, and 2 years with Bose. He then retired with his wife of 31 years, Mary Ann (Poszich) Miller, back in Bluefield, WV. Dallas was a devoted Christian, husband, father and grandfather.

Dallas enjoyed doing yardwork (he always maintained a beautiful yard and shrubs), home construction projects (finishing out basements of multiple houses), helping neighbors in any way he could, and just being an amazing husband and dad. He enjoyed playing ball with his boys, training wheels came off bicycles at age 4, and he taught his sons, as well as several of his nieces and nephews, how to ride a bike at that age.  His sons got something with a motor (motorcycle, go-cart or ATV) at age 7. He always made sure there was a yard in which to play, trails on which to ride, and a basketball goal in the driveway. Dallas was always ready to shoot baskets as soon as he returned home from the office and before changing out of his wingtip shoes.

Everything was focused on family, and he made sure his wife and sons had the opportunity to travel with him on business trips. Dallas and his family spent time in many places from Seattle, Washington to Lethbridge, and Toronto, Canada to Maui, Hawaii to Munich, Germany and many, many other places and cities in between. Dallas' primary guidance came from his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Studying the Bible, occasionally teaching from the pulpit, holding some Bible studies and services, in his home, were part of his life.

Dallas is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Ruby Miller; and sisters, Arlene  Roberts and Jackie Poe.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann (Poszich) Miller; step-son, Johnny Keith (Tina) Borich II; sons, Sean Kevin (Vickie), and Shea Keith (Amy) Miller.  He is also survived by his siblings:  Mona Dudley, Judy Moses, Pat Vanhoose, Deona Mabe, Kay Lewis, Sheila Thompson; and grandchildren:  Zachary Sean Miller, Gracie Danielle Miller, Jasmine "Jade" Elizabeth Miller, Annastyn Louise Miller, and Jaiden Karson Borich.

The family will receive friends August 13, 2025 from 12:00PM-1:00PM at Roselawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00PM  with the committal service immediatley following at Roselawn Cemetery.
