Connie Sue Hamm Richmond, aged 63, passed away on April 6, 2025. Born August 31, 1961, in Bluefield, West Virginia; she remained local her entire life, graduating from Bluefield High School in 1978. Connie held her family close to her heart and she prioritized uplifting and supporting her loved ones. Her energy was always committed to ensuring that her children's happiness and well-being was first and foremost. She was a very giving woman. There was nothing she wouldn't do for the ones she loved. Connie loved to joke and was playful. Her mischief always ensured laughter and created unforgettable memories that her friends and family will always cherish. Connie was a lover of animals, especially her Bichon Frisé dogs. She loved 80's music, the color blue, and an ice-cold Diet Coke. Her grandson River, whom she adored, was her world.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris Hamm, and one niece, Kristen Hamm.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Courtney Richmond and significant other Freddy Simon III; son, Justin Hamm and wife, Christie; sister Debra Boyles and husband Danny; brother Steven Hamm and significant other Frances Mamone; grandchildren, River Cundiff, Madelyn and Jocelyn Simon, and Alivia and Alena Hamm; nephew, Matt Boyles and wife April; nieces Angel Yelton and husband, Will, Alese Holzmeyer and husband, Nathanial, and Danielle Miller; great nieces, Eadie and Ealyn; and great nephew Alex Miller.

In keeping with her wishes, a memorial service will be held at The Jesus Church of Big Vain, Virginia (2192 Boissevain Road Bluefield, Virginia 24605) on Saturday, April 12th at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Harry Cundiff will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made directly to the church.
