On February 6, 2024, the Lord called Cassie Ladawn Martin Cousins from labor to reward. Born April 26, 1977, she was the daughter of the late Delores Lyndale Dowell Martin. Cassie was a graduate of Bluefield High School and Beckley Beauty Academy. Cassie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized by Pastor Dr. Lawrence L. Beale at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Cassie went astray from her faith but returned to find it renewed. Cassie was a cosmetologist for more than 20 years and enjoyed her work and clients very much. Doing hair was not only her profession but a passion and favorite past time. Cassie was a very sociable person and has always been fun, outgoing, and loving. No matter her age, she loved children, cartoons, coloring books, watching movies and sudoku puzzles. Cassie was a very sociable person who was extremely outgoing and just enjoyed life. Cassie was a friend to those who truly knew and loved her.

Cassie was preceded in death by her birth mother Delores Lyndale Dowell Martin, maternal Grandparents Young Dowell Sr., and Cassie Mae West Dowell (the only mother she knew), former husband and friend Eric Shane Cousins and stepson Terrell Cousins, Young Dowell Jr (uncle), Donna Dowell (aunt) and Barbara Marlene Dowell (aunt/godmother). She leaves behind to cherish her memory, Gwendolyn Dowell, Anita (Howard) Watkins and Michael Dowell with whom she was raised as a sibling, her aunts, and uncles, Lynn Washington of Beckley, Maxwell (Easter) Dowell, Alphonso Dowell and Timothy Dowell, Sr. of Bluefield, (god sister) Dionna Dowell of Bluefield and a host of uncles, aunts,
cousins, and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Cassie's care providers, with the last two being Monique Dowell and Alamaria Price.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 16, 2024, from 12PM-1PM with funeral services beginning at 1PM at Roselawn Funeral Home, Princeton, WV with Evangelist Timothy Hairston officiating.
