Carolyn Jeanette Shoemaker (nee Norris) passed away on June 9, 2024, at the age of 78 in Salisbury, NC. She was born on May 10, 1946, in Welch, WV, to the late Colonel Luther Norris and Frona Woods. Carolyn was a coal miner's daughter and grew up to become an independent and passionate woman who cherished adventures and her family.

She is survived by her beloved spouse Charles Shoemaker, her son Cortley Shoemaker and his wife Wendy Shoemaker, her son Colonel "Buster" Shoemaker and his wife Paula Shoemaker, and her daughter Cameo Hehe and her husband Michael Hehe. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Josephine McElwain, her brothers Jack Norris and Luther Norris Jr, and her niece Sharon Henry.

Carolyn excelled in her career as a Registered Nurse, specializing in Psychiatric and Drug/Alcohol Rehabilitation, as well as working as a traveling nurse. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Professional Arts from St. Joseph's College and an Associate in Applied Science from Rowan Technical College.

In her free time, Carolyn enjoyed traveling, reading, and gardening. Her sense of adventure and love for exploration enriched her life and the lives of those around her.

The family will receive friends at Roselawn Funeral Home, Saturday, June 15, 2024 beginning at 10:00AM. Funeral services will begin at 11:00AM. Burial will immediately follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
