Brian “Pops” Young, 63 of Princeton, WV passed away peacefully on May 29, 2026 at Hubbard’s Hospice House in Charleston, WV after fighting a long hard battle. He was Born March 23, 1963, in Columbus, OH. Brian had a history of working transportation for Door Dash and security where he met the love of his life, Mendi. He was recently known for his love of driving a school bus for Mercer County Schools which is where he gained his nickname, “Pops.” His hobbies included fishing, playing video games, playing guitar, and going to the beach.

Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 28 years, Melinda “Mendi” Young; daughter, Melissa (Ben) Oster of Port Orange, FL; three sons, Jamie (Brittney) Young and Adam Young all of Princeton, WV and Nathan (Katelyn) Young of Bluewell, WV; and five grandchildren. Also left to cherish his memory are his best friend and canine companion, Maggie Mae.

In keeping with his wishes Brian will be cremated, and a service will be held at a later date.
