Brenda Kay Davis, 78, of Lexington, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Hospital, North Carolina. Brenda was born on August 29, 1947, in Alpoca, West Virginia to the late Wilson Rose and Geraldine Dickens, and lived much of her life in Mullens, West Virginia with her late husband, William Travis Davis III for 54 years
Her remarkable life will forever reflect her resilient spirit, warm heart, and impenetrable bond as the matriarch of her family. Brenda was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished taking care of her family.
She is survived by her loving children, Melissa Davis-Dye and husband Tim of Lexington, NC, and William Travis Davis IV and wife Amanda of Mullens, WV; siblings include Tommy Rose, Billy Rose, Jerry Dickens, and Monalisa Goode. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Huston Harden and wife Victoria of Princeton, WV; Audrianna Reid Jedra and husband Jordan of Rayland, OH; Brandon Dye and partner Jake Barnes of Lexington, NC; William Travis Davis V of Mullens, WV; as well as four great granddaughters Sierra Harden, Everley and Amelia Jedra, and Maeve Davis.
The family are grateful for all the care and support provided to Brenda from friends and family—as well as the thoughtful medical staff of Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. Services will be held on September 26, 2025, at 9:00 am for immediate family members; 10:00 am for visitors and friends to pay respects, followed by service at 11:00 am at Roselawn Funeral Home in Princeton, West Virginia.
