IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Agnes Jean
"Dink" Williams
April 3, 1928 – January 14, 2024
"Although it hurts me so, To lay to rest this mountain beauty that the Lord's called home,
And I can't see her up in glory, I can see her through the pines" - Tyler Childers
Agnes Jean Williams, age 95 of Bluefield, WV passed away Sunday, January 14, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born April 3, 1928 in Maybeury, WV she was a daughter of the late Rassie Davidson and Florence Bell Walker. Agnes had a tremendous love for her family and looked forward to annual family reunions in July. She was a Sunday school teacher for Coaldale Freewill Baptist and Deliverance Temple for over 40 years and believed wholeheartedly in the Bible. Agnes was a true caregiver, especially for her parents when they became ill as well as her first and second husbands. Throughout her life, all she wanted to be was a wife and a mother, and she was one of the best. She taught all seven of her children how to drive, and made some of the best pies anyone could have imagined. She was a talented seamstress and loved gardening. After losing her sight several years ago, she inspired everyone with how she handled it with grace, determination and independence. She remained feisty and never lost her sense of humor. Although Agnes was unable to see here on Earth, when she opened her eyes in Heaven, she saw Jesus, all of her loved ones, and the vibrant beautiful colors that God showed her in a vision. In addition to her parents, Agnes is preceded in death by her first husband, and father to her children, Clyde Brown; second husband, George Williams; son, Clyde Anthony Brown; grandchildren, Barbara Brown Ellis and Jodi Delida; three brothers and seven sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeff Brown; daughters, Gwen Morris, Karen Dale, Susan Hinkle and husband Charles, Vickie Perry, Dana Nester and husband, Darrell; step children, Carol Fletcher and husband, Tom, Wanda Edwards, Larry Williams and wife, Christine, Ralph Williams and wife, Hattie, Donnie Williams and wife, Pat, and Linda Louton and husband Johnny; sisters, Dorcas Wright, Judy Riffe, and Joan Davidson; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
The family would like to acknowledge her son, Jeff for his selfless care of his mother. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Crystal Hunt, Betty Carroll, and Sherry Powers and Amedisys for helping make it possible to keep Agnes at home so she could be with her family.
"She is far more precious than Rubies." -Proverbs 31:10
